How do I add a shadow to a product photo?
Cut the product out first, so it stands on a transparent background. Then put a darker, blurred copy of its outline under it (a drop shadow), a soft oval where it meets the floor (a contact shadow), or a fading mirror image below it (a reflection). Softness sets how blurred the edge is; opacity sets how dark it is.
