Photoroom is a full product image editor; ProduktShot is a narrower tool that turns one product photo into shop photos and finished ad posters. Photoroom started with background removal and now covers AI scenes, AI Fashion Models, product video, batch editing, mobile apps and an API.

ProduktShot makes studio and lifestyle product photos, removes backgrounds, and turns the same upload into an ad poster in Ad mode, with the headline and offer written for you. It sells images only today: product video and UGC video ads are in development.

Both tools remove backgrounds and put a product into new scenes. ProduktShot's product photos start from 103 ready-made scenes or your own prompt, made with Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image 2, in 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 2:3, 9:16 and 16:9. A standard image costs 3 credits, and the cheapest costs 2.5 credits. Sizes are 1K, 2K and 4K, capped by plan: 1K on the free plan and Starter, 2K on Pro, 4K on Studio. Background removal is free on every paid plan and costs 3 credits on the free plan.

Photoroom's AI Backgrounds and Product Staging do the scene job. Its AI Fashion Models put garments on a model: 1K on the entry Pro plan, 2K on Max and 4K on Ultra. ProduktShot has no on-model feature, so for clothing sellers this is a real Photoroom strength.

ProduktShot makes finished ad posters; Photoroom makes product video. ProduktShot's Ad mode turns a product photo into a poster from 122 templates in 5 categories, made with Grok Imagine Image 2.0 and GPT Image 2, from 3 credits a poster. It writes the headline and offer for you, and templates built around a person cast a synthetic presenter.

Photoroom has design templates and a Brand Kit that keeps colours, logos and fonts on brand. Its Video Generator makes product video from a product shot, on the Max ($34.99/month) and Ultra ($99/month) plans only. ProduktShot has no video yet.

Photoroom's entry plan is cheaper; ProduktShot's plans differ by credits and the largest image size. ProduktShot bills in euros:

Photoroom fits a Shopify store and a phone-based workflow better. It has iPhone, iPad and Android apps, a Shopify integration from Max, batch editing and an API with its own pricing, and each paid plan allows up to 50 seats. ProduktShot is a web app only. It has no mobile app, Shopify app, API or batch processing yet, and no team seats: each click makes up to 4 images of one scene, and you download them and upload them to your shop.

Photoroom is stronger on apps, scale and on-model fashion. It says its background remover is trusted by 80M+ users and names customers such as Decathlon, Depop, Wolt and Mercari. Its strengths over ProduktShot: iPhone, iPad and Android apps, a Shopify integration, AI Fashion Models and Virtual Try-On, product video, batch editing, an API and up to 50 seats per plan. If you edit on a phone, sell clothing or run a large Shopify catalogue, Photoroom fits better.
